Terms of use

VERSION 1 · EFFECTIVE 4 OCTOBER 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Arrowbox Pvt. Ltd., a company in India, with its registered office at Sobha Dream Acres, Balagere Main Road, Bangalore, Karnataka, India (“Arrowbox”, “we”, “us”), for using arrowbox.io and everything on it (the “service”). By creating an account, or by reading or buying anything on the service, you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the service.

1. What Arrowbox is

Arrowbox teaches system design. Each design is split into topics you read in order, with diagrams, trade-offs and quick checks along the way, grouped into stacks such as frontend, backend, machine learning and agents. Some of it is free to read; the rest needs a Pro subscription. We keep adding and revising material, so what is on the service changes over time.

2. Your account

  • You need an account to read most designs and to keep your progress. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Google. Give us an email address you can receive mail at; we use it for sign-in, receipts and messages about your account.
  • If you sign in with Google using an email address that already has an Arrowbox account, the two are treated as the same account.
  • An account is for one person. Don’t share your sign-in or let others read through your account; each reader needs their own.
  • Keep your password safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy a subscription.

3. The content, and what you may do with it

The designs, text, diagrams, quick checks and illustrations on Arrowbox belong to us or the people we license them from. While you have access, we let you read them and use what you learn for your own study, your interviews and your own work. That permission is personal: you can’t pass it on.

You may not:

  • copy, republish, sell or share our designs or diagrams, in whole or in large parts, anywhere else;
  • share paid content with people who haven’t paid for it, or offer access to your account;
  • use scripts, scrapers or bulk downloads to collect the content, or use it to train or test machine-learning models;
  • build a competing course or product from our material;
  • get around the paywall, sign-in or rate limits, or probe or disrupt the service.

Quoting a short passage with a link back, for discussion or review, is fine.

4. Illustrative designs, not company secrets

Each design shows one sensible way an app of a given kind could be built. It is written for teaching, is not how any named company actually builds its products and does not use any company’s internal information. Product names are used only to say what kind of app a design is about; Arrowbox isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by those companies. See the disclaimer.

5. Pro subscriptions and payment

  • Pro is a subscription, billed every month, every three months or every year, as you choose at checkout. The price, the currency and whether tax is included are shown before you pay.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price you subscribed at, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for and then stops, with no further charge.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card or UPI details go to them, not to us, and their terms apply to the payment itself.
  • Prices are set per region and currency, from the country you’re billed in. Don’t misstate your billing country to get a different price.
  • Discount codes apply only as stated with each code, can’t be exchanged for cash and can be withdrawn for new purchases at any time.
  • If we change the price of a plan, a subscription you already have keeps its price until we’ve told you by email at least 15 days before the new price applies; you can cancel before then.
  • Payments aren’t refunded, except as the refunds and cancellation policy sets out (for example a payment taken twice by mistake).

6. Things you send us

If you send feedback, report an issue or suggest a topic, we can use it to improve Arrowbox without owing you anything for it. Don’t send anything you aren’t free to share.

7. Suspending or closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time from your account page; deleting it removes your progress and personal data as described in the privacy notice. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing paid content or scraping the service. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close an account without a breach on your part, we’ll refund the unused part of any period you’ve paid for.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Arrowbox available and accurate, but it is provided as it is. There may be interruptions for maintenance or problems outside our control, and designs and topics may be revised, replaced or removed as the material improves. We don’t promise that any particular design will stay on the service, or that the material will get you a job or pass an interview.

9. Liability

Arrowbox is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t promise that it is free of errors, always available, or suited to a particular purpose such as passing an interview. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost opportunities or profits, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits a liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

10. Copyright and trademark complaints

If you believe something on Arrowbox infringes your copyright or trademark, write to support@arrowbox.io with: what the work or mark is, where it appears on Arrowbox (a link), your contact details, and a statement that you own the rights or act for the owner. We’ll acknowledge it within 5 working days and remove or change the material if the complaint holds.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. For a change that matters, we’ll tell signed-in readers by email or on the site at least 15 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Arrowbox after that means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can cancel and delete your account.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them or the service, except where a law that protects you as a consumer lets you bring a claim elsewhere. Before going to court, please write to us; most problems can be sorted out directly.
